Pause & Play: Pendulum — Fingerstyle Course

For this Pause & Play we’re heading back into the Fingerstyle Course to revisit one of my own pieces, Pendulum. It’s a lovely study in alternating-thumb fingerstyle, with the thumb creating that steady pendulum-like movement underneath the melody.

We’ll watch the original course lesson together, but this time I’ll be there live to pause, explain, demonstrate and dig a little deeper. We can look at keeping the alternating thumb relaxed and even, coordinating melody and bass, developing finger independence, and — most importantly — turning the notes into music with flow and phrasing.

As always with Pause & Play, bring your ukulele and your questions. We can stop wherever we need to, try sections together, explore easier ways into any tricky bits and look at anything I might teach differently now. You don’t need to have mastered Pendulum beforehand — this is a chance to revisit it together.
