Somewhere Between Maths & Music - Wednesday 10th June 2026 3:30pm UK time
This workshop explores one of the most fascinating things in music: hidden melodies inside chords.
Even when chord names seem to jump around, our brains often hear smooth descending lines hidden inside the harmony itself.
Together we’ll explore:
Why certain progressions feel emotional
Hidden descending melodies inside chords
Why our brains search for smooth movement in music
Famous songs that use these ideas beautifully
How to hear harmony differently
How to create hidden melodies in your own playing and arrangements
We’ll look at examples from songs like:
Let It Be
No Woman No Cry
In Spite Of Ourselves
...and more.
This is less about “heavy theory”… and more about discovering the hidden patterns that make music feel alive.
Everyone is welcome to join us live.
If you’d like to revisit the workshop later, download the worksheets, and build your own personal workshop library, all replays and bonus resources are included for Learn Ukulele members.
By the way, if you’re one of our LearnUkulele com members, don’t forget your worksheets are waiting for you in the members’ area.
Somewhere between maths and magic… that’s where music lives.
