Hi all. I thought I was doing pretty well playing melody notes using my thumb. But I just started Mat’s finger style course. He begins by having us use PIMA style to o play various scales. That means assigning 1 finger for each string with apparently no exceptions. I’m struggling with this in a big way. Sometimes when I get my 2nd finger going, I forget to use my index on the 3rd string and viras.

I’ve reached out to Matt about this but so far no response.

Is anyone else struggling with this concept.

I cam play arpeggios ok using Pima but those are just repeating patterns, so I get in the “groove”. But when the notes get mixed up, so do my fingers. Has anyone else had this issue?
