Just booked for the summer Retreat, look forward to seeing everyone!

I have been trying unsuccessfully to join the group. It’s me I must add not the group. Has anyone else had the same experience? It has to be something I’m doing my end. I am already on Facebook/Meta but I’m becoming lost in a sea of passcodes and passwords. After watching Matt’s lesson on nerves and overcoming them I would like to post something. Mind you I’m still learning after four years how to use my IPad….only discovered split screen a few months back. Basically I haven’t a clue what I’m doing half the time. I think at a certain age all you do is play technology catch up!

Just wondering if anyone has been tempted to invest in the new range of ‘Oli Ukuleles. They look and sound great from what I have seen on Alex’s SUS demos.

Hi, I am considering purchasing this model and wondered if anybody had any views. I have read mixed reports on both the tone and workmanship of the instrument. One photo showed how the pin heads had fractured the interior wood and I have also read reports of buzzing strings. Overall I think it is great looking Uke but looks can be deceptive. Am I been toocritical as Flight produce some real high quality instruments.

Forgive the festive pun but if all you fellow players have any friends who are still unconvinced about the street cred of the Uke…well just get them to listen to and watch Jake Shimabukuro and Mick Fleetwood play their way through their new album Blues Experience. This is the sound of our instrument of choice in the 21st Century…..welcome to the future!

I’ll admit to getting a tad frustrated, I’ve posted a song on here about the subject. I love fingerstyle and chord melody but….strumming….it’s like my fingers are raking over gravel. Add chord changes to the mix and timing the change whilst continuing to strum..well I miss the strings every time. Fingers collapse like a house of cards. In a nutshell there is no continuity. Throw into the mix the triple strum and at the moment not a chance. Does anyone have or had these same problem areas to developing their strumming technique. On the road to this most necessary ability have you also stumbled your way to perfecting this skill.
