Join me for this week’s Kanikapila Mondays — a relaxed, friendly ukulele jam where we play music together from wherever we are in the world
This week’s theme is “April Showers” We’ll be exploring two beautiful songs with a rainy-day feel — from classic jazz to laid-back folk.
What we’ll be playing:
⁃ April Showers (classic jazz standard with rich harmony)
⁃ Have You Ever Seen The Rain? (simple, timeless groove)
What you’ll learn:
⁃ How to navigate jazz-style chord progressions (ii–V–I movement)
⁃ How to use a diminished 7th turnaround to add colour and movement
⁃ How to keep a steady, relaxed groove in a group setting
⁃ How to understand chord movement using Matt’s Musical Colours system
⁃ Ways to make your playing more expressive and musical
